About The Position

As part of the Freedom Boat Club team, the Dock Hand works by the water with the club’s fleet of boats and provides customer-focused service to members and guests. The role involves greeting members, supporting dock operations, preparing boats and equipment, maintaining vessels and the club location, and assisting with reservations and related daily records. This is a part-time position requiring availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The anticipated pay is $15 per hour.

Requirements

Pass a background check and drug screen.
Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to regularly meet the role’s physical demands, including bending, kneeling, balancing, and carrying equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Be able to read and use handheld tablets.
Be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Adhere to all safety policies.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards.
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
Make and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette.
Manage check-in and check-out using a handheld tablet.
Check equipment to ensure it is functional and on board.
Clean and maintain vessels and the club location according to company standards.
Complete daily clerical work, including preparing the reservation system, fuel logs, and weather reports.
Become familiar with local waters to provide basic guidance to members.
Communicate clearly and professionally.
Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
Follow company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
Work outdoors in the elements and stand for extended periods.
