About The Position

Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation, a family-owned business for over 75 years, is a key partner with leading medical device, semiconductor, scientific analytics, and industrial systems manufacturers. We specialize in high voltage applications and have design and manufacturing sites globally. The Dock Audit Technician will perform final inspection of finished products before consolidation, sealing, and shipping. This role involves visual inspection and cross-verification at the shipping dock to ensure defective and non-compliant products are not shipped, thereby preventing customer complaints, maintaining business reputation, and fostering a culture of quality.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree in Industrial, Electronic, or similar field.
  • 1 year of experience in a Quality position.
  • Intermediate interpretation of the IPC standards.
  • Basic knowledge of functions in electronic systems (MRP).
  • Basic interpretation of blueprints and bills of materials.
  • Handling of measuring equipment (Vernier, calipers, multimeters, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of ESD guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of the assembly process of electronic products using mixed technologies, SMT and T-Hole, manual soldering, mechanical assemblies, etc.
  • Intermediate handling of computer packages.
  • Basic knowledge of the metal mechanic’s process.
  • Basic knowledge of plating and painting processes.
  • Basic knowledge of power source processes.
  • Intermediate interpretation level of product documentation in general.
  • Intermediate level of English.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and understanding in Environmental & Quality Management Systems in their current versions (e.g. ISO 14001, 9001).

Responsibilities

  • Perform product audits to assure compliance with packaging and product requirements.
  • Perform product audits to assure physical integrity according to specifications, correct parts, and quantity.
  • Perform product audits to ensure compliance with special customer requirements.
  • Perform process audits to verify quality controls.
  • Conduct data analysis to support claims reported due to packing, logistics, or identification issues.
  • Provide Quality technical support to the distribution center.
  • Support the receiving area in all quality aspects, including early detection of issues prior to arrival at the production site.
  • Lead the MRB (Material Review Board) process, meetings, disposition, and follow-up of material segregated from the receiving inspection process and detected in the Spellman distribution center.
  • Lead containment actions in the Spellman distribution center.
  • Coordinate the purge of non-conforming material in the distribution center.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) guidelines.
  • Manage Quality records.
  • Update and sustain inspection instructions applicable to parts and materials in the Spellman distribution center.
  • Perform quality assurance of material received from Spellman sister plants (Transfer Orders).
  • Manage all material that needs to be returned to the Manufacturing location.
  • Manage material with special requirements, prototypes, special engineering requests, customer samples, etc., supporting their QMS portion accordingly.
  • Lead the problem-solving process in the Spellman distribution center.
  • Comply with the Health, Safety, and Environment Policy, following applicable procedures and work instructions for participation in established Objectives and Goals.
