About The Position

South Mountain Creamery is a dairy farm family that bottles its own milk and makes its own butter, yogurt, and ice cream. They brought the milkman back in 2001 and have been making home deliveries to the DMV area for over 24 years. They have grown to be the area's largest and most efficient home delivery business. They are currently hiring for a Dock Associate at their Chambersburg location. The Logistics Team is vital to creating the high-quality customer service they strive to attain, and this position is imperative to the success of their production and delivery teams. This position reports to the Dock Manager and is anticipated to work M-F, 7:00 am-3:00 pm, with some flexibility to help on other shifts as requested by management.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• The motivation to work in a team environment
• A detail-oriented mindset
• Work is performed in refrigerated and otherwise temperature-controlled environments.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while working safely and efficiently.
• This position involves regular lifting of roughly 40 lbs. from ground level to waist high using proper lifting techniques.
• Bending and other physical tasks are required.
• Basic math, computation, and paperwork completion are required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift and or pallet jack
• Move and stage inventory
• Coordinate the shuttle between plants
• Tape and build boxes
• Build, break down, or shrink-wrap pallets of ice cream, re-palletize, etc.
• Move pallets and other items with a forklift
• Ensure paperwork is turned in to the appropriate party
• Maintain cleanliness and the organization of the warehouse area
• Other duties as assigned
