About The Position

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a creative, energetic, and strategic leader to serve as its next Highway Safety Marketing Manager. This role combines communications with public service, aiming to save lives on Virginia roadways. The position involves leading high-visibility statewide safety campaigns, collaborating with an advertising agency on creative concepts, and planning press events, community activations, and public outreach campaigns. The manager will help launch media campaigns focused on issues like seat belt use and speeding prevention, coordinate public events, support press conferences, develop messaging strategies, and partner with various organizations to amplify safety messages. The Virginia Highway Safety Office is dedicated to reducing crashes, injuries, and fatalities through data-driven strategies, public engagement, and partnerships, utilizing creativity, storytelling, research, and outreach to drive behavior change. Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of marketing, communications, and public relations program management.
