This role involves measuring, fitting, and applying custom orthopedic devices and OTS products. The technician will educate patients, family members, and co-workers on DME products and orthopedic devices. They will interact positively with physicians, clients, and co-workers, utilizing effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, including pleasant and effective telephone communication. Basic computer skills are required for proficiency in software applications like Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records. Responsibilities include authorizing/pre-certing insurance for orthopedic devices, initiating self-pay items, and tracking, organizing, restocking, and dispensing inventory. The technician will also take measurements and fit patients for functional/OA bracing as needed and will move between locations as scheduled for coverage. Additional duties include performing other assigned duties, complying with all policies and standards, and adhering to all requirements for safely and securely maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI).
