About The Position

The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking a DJJ Operations Consultant to provide outreach services and educate community stakeholders on delinquency prevention programming, research, and policies. This role involves participating in community engagements and initiatives, coordinating and facilitating community events, and developing and maintaining effective partnerships with local community organizations, schools, law enforcement, and stakeholders. The consultant will also monitor staff in assigned regions and circuits, supervise staff at headquarters and circuits, and conduct on-site visits, technical assistance, and support. Additionally, the position requires reviewing and monitoring provider deficiencies, assisting in resolving them, and resolving program-related incidents. The role involves drafting monthly reports, evaluating data from outcome measures, and making recommendations for program improvement.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
  • Knowledge of communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Ability to comprehend written documents.
  • Ability to listen and ask questions.
  • Ability to supervise others.
  • A valid driver’s license is required. If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of administrative experience.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides outreach services and educates community stakeholders on delinquency prevention programming, research, and policies.

  • Supervises staff and conducts thorough on-site visits, technical assistance, and support and provides direction and guidance to providers.
  • Reviews and monitors provider deficiencies, assists in resolving deficiencies and resolve program related incidents.
  • Drafts monthly reports and submit on a timely basis.
  • Evaluates data from outcome measures and requirements and make recommendations to management for program improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
