About The Position

The Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a DJJ Operations Consultant - SES. This role provides outreach services and educates community stakeholders on delinquency prevention programming, research, and policies. The consultant will participate in community engagements and initiatives, coordinate and/or facilitate community events, and develop and maintain effective partnerships with local community organizations, schools, law enforcement, stakeholders, and the community at large. The position involves monitoring staff in assigned regions and circuits, supervising staff at headquarters and circuits, conducting on-site visits, providing technical assistance and support, and offering direction and guidance to providers. The consultant will also review and monitor provider deficiencies, assist in resolving them, and resolve program-related incidents. Additionally, the role includes drafting monthly reports, evaluating data from outcome measures, and making recommendations for program improvement. The incumbent spends the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, as well as planning and directing their work.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
  • Knowledge of communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Ability to comprehend written documents.
  • Ability to listen and ask questions.
  • Ability to supervise others.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of administrative experience.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drafts monthly reports and submit on a timely basis; evaluates data from outcome measures and requirements and make recommendations to management for program improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
