About The Position

This position is open to RST DLMP and MCS ONLY. The Night Shift Pre-Analytic Testing Supervisor provides operational oversight of laboratory workflows during overnight hours, ensuring timely and accurate specimen processing and adherence to quality standards. This role actively monitors workload and staffing to maintain efficiency, addresses workflow issues in real time, and implements process improvements as needed. The supervisor collaborates closely with evening and day shift leadership to ensure continuity of operations, effective communication, and consistent application of departmental policies across all shifts. This includes participation in cross-shift handoffs, alignment on priorities, and escalation of critical issues. In addition, this role supports staff development through coaching and performance conversations, partnering with evening and night shift leaders to provide consistent guidance, address performance concerns, and reinforce a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in CLS/MLS/MT + 6 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in clinical laboratory science (CLS), medical laboratory science (MLS), or medical technology (MT) AND six years of clinical laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified bachelors degree.
  • Bachelor's + MLS certification + 6 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution AND a certificate in medical laboratory science (MLS) or another clinical laboratory specialty certificate AND 6 years of clinical laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified bachelor’s degree.
  • Bachelor's in Chemistry or a Biological Science + 7 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in chemistry or biological science AND seven years of clinical laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified bachelors degree
  • Master + 2 Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience
  • Master degree from an accredited institution in chemical, physical, biological. clinical laboratory science or medical technology. AND two years of clinical laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified bachelors degrees listed above.
  • Bachelors + 4 years of Laboratory Management Experience
  • Bachelor degree, preferably in CLS/MLS/MT, management/business, sciences or a health-related field. AND four years of laboratory management experience
  • In the non-testing laboratories (Laboratory Services, Central Processing, Microbiology Initial Processing, Preparation and Processing, Autotransfusion, IMPACT, Hematopathology Support Lab, Operational Support Unit, MML Operations, and Donor Services) and Histopathology laboratories: Bachelor's degree, preferably in CLS/MLS/MT, management/business, sciences or a health-related field and four years of laboratory or management experience.
  • DLMP employees that have been in their current lab/position for less than 2 years must attached an early release approval from their supervisor.
  • Requires CV/Resume, cover letter, and three (3) most recent performance appraisals.
