About The Position

The Divisional Eligibility Support Specialist provides expert guidance and hands-on support to facility and regional staff related to Long-Term Care Medicaid Eligibility (MEPD). This role ensures accurate application completion, timely case resolution, and ongoing compliance with state and federal Medicaid regulations. The position requires a strong field presence, collaboration across departments, and a passion for supporting the elderly and handicapped population.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
  • Working knowledge of Long-Term Care Medicaid Eligibility (MEPD)
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch
  • Strong typing skills and general computer proficiency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, the public, and coworkers
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform all essential job duties and meet physical job requirements
  • Genuine caring and interest in serving elderly and handicapped individuals
  • Ability to comply with the Patients’ Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities
  • Ability to comply with all company and departmental safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to read and write in English

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to facility staff regarding MEPD policies and procedures
  • Identify facilities requiring assistance and coordinate efforts to resolve eligibility concerns effectively
  • Review and assist with the completion of Medicaid applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documentation
  • Maintain consistent communication with facility staff, regional staff, caseworkers, and other stakeholders to support timely case resolution
  • Participate in Private Aging calls to identify and address Medicaid and Medicaid Pending-related issues
  • Maintain in-field presence a minimum of three (3) weeks per month to provide on-site support and training
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all state and federal Medicaid regulations
  • Complete and submit written reviews of facility visits
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
