About The Position
Style Crest is seeking a Divisional Controller to manage financial operations for a manufacturing division, ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting, strong internal controls, and meaningful financial support for operational decision-making. This role partners closely with operations, procurement, maintenance, and corporate finance to drive cost control, margin improvement, process efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in manufacturing or plant environment
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing accounting practices.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify drivers, and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years in a supervisory or controller role preferred.
- experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Cognos) a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for the plant: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements, KPI reports, and plant-level P&L analysis; explain variances to operations and corporate finance.
- Develop and maintain budgets, quarterly forecasts, and rolling financial plans in partnership with plant leadership.
- Oversee cost accounting: standard cost maintenance, cost roll-ups, inventory valuation, scrap, WIP, and overhead allocation.
- Manage intercompany transactions.
- Implement and enforce internal controls requirements as applicable; support external audits.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives: cost reduction, process efficiency, throughput improvement, and margin enhancement projects.
- Supervise, coach, and develop plant accounting staff; set goals, monitor performance, and ensure appropriate staffing and coverage.
- Support capital expenditure planning, ROI analysis, and project accounting for plant investments.
- Coordinate with corporate finance, tax, and payroll teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
