About The Position

We are seeking a Divisional Controller to join the Eagle Builders Group of Companies in a key development-focused role. This position is well suited for a CPA with a minimum of 2 years post designation experience who is ready to take on broader responsibilities within a growing, multi-entity organization. As Divisional Controller, you will play a central role in overseeing financial reporting and compliance, supporting lender relationships, overseeing property management reporting, and establishing scalable reporting structures and internal controls as the business continues to evolve, while partnering closely with senior leadership and business unit leaders. Working closely with business leaders across operating, investment, and holding companies, you will provide financial guidance, analysis, and practical insight, serving as a trusted financial partner while gaining deep exposure to Eagle’s core businesses and contributing to continued growth.

Requirements

  • CPA designation preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Progressive experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to multi-entity or growing organizations
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements
  • Experience working with lenders, auditors, or external stakeholders
  • Comfortable building processes, structures, and controls where they may not yet be fully established
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to see the bigger picture
  • Proficient with accounting systems and Excel; experience implementing or improving systems
  • Strong leadership skills, able to effect positive change through coaching and engagement activities
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, experience with financial reporting tools or a willingness to learn new systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Local to Central Alberta

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the organization’s financial reporting, including preparation and oversight of property management team and other regulatory or compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with external lenders, supporting reporting requirements, financial submissions, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Support the setup and integration of new business units, including establishing reporting structures, chart of accounts, and financial workflows.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all entities.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting analysis.
  • Partner with leadership to improve financial visibility, reporting clarity, and decision-making support.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help build systems that support growth and scalability.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and advisors as required.
  • Continually expand your knowledge of the entire operations of Eagle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
