About The Position

This role will be responsible for developing a centralized purchasing model and the analysis of complex data sets to determine the optimal procurement strategy across GMS. The GMS Division Manager, Procurement will create a dedicated team that bridges the gap between procurement, pricing, and field operations—ensuring that team maximizes profitability without compromising the product availability and service quality that customers expect. The Manager, Enterprise Procurement will be the Subject Matter Expert for all pricing aspects within the GMS ERP system using recommended procurement strategies and will serve as the main point of contact within GMS for procurement updates, maintenance questions and training. Additional responsibilities include the establishment of procurement standards to be implemented across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in finance, economics, business or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with pricing and product data.
  • Position requires skill working with relational databases and/or spreadsheet data including formulas and lookups.
  • Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks
  • Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Must be able to receive and analyze financial information
  • Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement and initiative

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a scalable, centralized framework that leverages GMS’s enterprise scale while maintaining the local agility required to meet customer needs.
  • Implement enterprise-wide procurement solutions and pricing management.
  • Establish and implement overall procurement strategy for organization.
  • Develop sourcing strategy to achieve key organizational and departmental goals related to cost savings, process improvement, standardization, waste reduction and other pertinent supply chain initiatives.
  • Partner with Corporate Purchasing and Pricing teams to ensure product costs are optimized and strategic buys are translated into maximized margins.
  • Collaborate with internal supply chain operations to monitor and report on compliance of implemented changes in products, processes, and efficiencies.
  • Create and oversee KPIs and analytical tools to monitor inventory health, turnover rates, and stock optimization to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.
