About The Position

Corning's Optical Fiber & Cable (OFC) Division is seeking a Division Engineering Process Excellence (PEx) and Strategy Senior Manager to drive engineering performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across a global manufacturing organization. This role owns the OFC Division's PEx program, Engineering Portal, and engineer onboarding framework — and plays a key part in shaping how the division deploys and sustains engineering strategy at scale. The successful candidate will represent the division on corporate steering teams and serve as a visible leader across global plants and Centers of Competence (CoCs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant science discipline (e.g., Physics, Chemistry)
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, spanning Engineering, Operations, Technology, and/or Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated experience leading a Process Excellence (PEx) or Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement program across multiple sites or a global organization
  • Green Belt trained (minimum); DMAIC methodology proficiency required
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects in a matrixed organization
  • Experience using AI productivity tools to drive work efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Green Belt certified or Black Belt trained/certified
  • Familiarity with DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methodologies
  • Experience designing or managing engineering onboarding programs or learning and development frameworks
  • Familiarity with engineering knowledge portal systems or division-wide content management platforms
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior/executive-level stakeholders
  • Prior experience in the fiber optic, cable, or advanced materials manufacturing industry

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and annual refresh of the Division PEx strategy; establish clear objectives and ensure consistent alignment across all global plants and regional PEx champions
  • Drive adoption of standardized continuous improvement tools and methodologies — including DMAIC and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) — across the manufacturing network; coach teams and optimize Green Belt utilization
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Division Engineering Portal — ensuring content is current, relevant, and valuable — and facilitate best practice sharing across CoCs and corporate partners
  • Own and enhance the Division Engineering onboarding framework, monitoring effectiveness and improving new hire integration and time-to-productivity
  • Lead or support division-level projects focused on strategy, systems, tools, and process improvement; drive cross-functional initiatives aligned with evolving business priorities
  • Represent the OFC Division on corporate steering teams including the PEx Council, Lean Council, and Manufacturing Excellence & Engineering (MEE) Council
