The Division Chief, Preparedness is responsible for working on a broad array of policy and operational efforts within the organization in support of collaborative partnerships at all levels of government. The Division Chief, Preparedness will work with agency leadership to recommend solutions to complex problems or issues, research/analyze current law/policies/data, draft policy/regulations, and serve as a liaison to integrate efforts with intergovernmental partner agencies. The Division Chief, Preparedness may oversee special programs that entail special access and information management, safety/security/training functions and programming, initiatives focused on operational and organizational innovation and efficiencies, special efforts associated with specific events or incidents, mission objectives on specific intergovernmental challenges, policy and mission messaging support functions, analysis and program management, and will work cross-collaboratively with agency leadership to support agency initiatives across all phases of emergency management (preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation). Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position is considered at-will and serves at the discretion of the head of the agency. Salary is a fixed rate. This position is located on-site and not subject to telecommuting.
