Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent with two years of additional computer training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must have knowledge of structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and contract specifications.
  • AutoCAD (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the research, design, and implementation of projects.
  • Performs engineering project support functions.
  • Conducts research to determine manufacturability, ease of assembly.
  • Assists in review and creation of documentation.
  • Assist management with “Research and Development” of new products and processes as needed.
  • Researches and analyzes design proposals, specifications and applications regulations.
  • Interprets Architectural Specifications and Blueprints in order to develop CAD based shop drawings for Architect’s review.
  • Interacts with engineering team to assess compliance with plan specifications.
  • Identifies causes of product process instability and recommends solutions.
  • Ensures products and systems meet client/customer specifications and applicable building codes.
  • Coordinates with the client and LIFD Project Manager to resolve issues and application contracts.
  • Manages the release of material to the production facility to ensure efficiency and compliance with customers’ critical path expectations.
  • Communicates project information among groups, departments, and units.
  • Supports team members and ensures that established goals and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation
  • Ensures that all project documentation is complete and current.
  • Keeps superiors informed of significant problems and of progress in reaching established objectives.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with area staff.
  • Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use proper lifting techniques.
