About The Position

Student employee will provide customer service and office/faculty support. Students in this role will be generally trained on customer service and office tasks. A typical day could include staffing front desks and answering phones or assisting the division office as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled at Oakton College in at least 6 credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Employment over the summer is allowed for students taking at least 1 credit class during the summer, or students continuing registration into the following Fall semester.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good standing at Oakton College.
  • Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated reliability and responsibility.
  • Friendly, flexible, organized, courteous, and punctuality a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills with strong detail orientation preferred.
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office and Google technology (GSUITE) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct students and visitors to offices based on individual's need
  • Provide office support including filing, scanning, shredding and copying
  • Answer incoming calls and direct calls to respective departments
  • Make sure Faculty office (Room 112) is organized
  • Load paper in the copier in Room 114 in and student lounge in the Lee Center
  • Check pencils supply, paper, scan tron and refill if needed
  • Clean/Organize your work area including drawers and top of desk
  • Run office errands if needed
  • Answer questions from first year PTA students and direct students to appropriate faculty or lab assistant.
