About The Position

The Diversion Data Analyst position requires gathering information from several sources, analyzing and summarizing the information to draw conclusions, and make decisions. This is a full time, non-exempt position. The individual will utilize policies, existing data bases, and tools available to assist in the formulation of recommendations. This position is largely self-directed, but will work under the direction of the Pharmacy Automation Coordinator. The analyst will be responsible for overseeing daily controlled medication workflows and reporting any inappropriate workflow, discrepancy, or possible diversion to the Pharmacy Automation Coordinator and the UF Health Shands Hospital Code N Team. The Diversion Data Analyst supports routine surveillance, investigation, and program development activities across UF Health Shands Hospital. Assists with policy and standard operating procedures and supports Pharmacy leaders with required data and reports. This position may be required to access information considered 'confidential and protected' by the organization to achieve required responsibilities. Must comply with all relevant policies and procedures related to the use, disclosure, and security of this information and policies related to security of the organization's information systems.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required
  • Knowledge of and experience using software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's Degree (AA or AS) from an accredited college/university plus one (1) year of relevant work experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Degree
  • Healthcare experience
  • EMR system experience (Epic preferred)
  • Data analytics and database management
  • Technical problem solving
  • Familiarity with DEA, FDA, Department of Health, Board of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medicine, the Joint Commission and other regulations related to drug diversion
  • A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for experience
  • Active Pharmacy Technician license preferred
