About The Position

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is an urban district whose mission is to provide a high-quality public education for every child, in every neighborhood, preparing students for success in college, career, and civic life. Under the supervision of the school principal, the Diverse Learners Teacher is responsible for instruction, student progress, tracking, and discipline in assigned classes, as well as other assigned duties. Teachers communicate effectively and exercise professional judgment with administrators, colleagues, families, and students; prioritize safety through consistent implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and schoolwide systems; personalize learning through curriculum supplements and technology as available; and support CPS’s commitments to equity, cultural competence, high expectations, developmental appropriateness, individual student needs, appropriate technology use, and student responsibility.
