About The Position

The Country Club of Birmingham is a premier private club offering exceptional amenities, personalized service, and a welcoming atmosphere for our members and guests. From golf and racquets to fine dining and social events, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence in every experience. This is a seasonal contract position from the end of May to the end of July.

Requirements

• Knowledge of coaching youth.
• Knowledge & experience of the sport of diving.
• Ability to teach the technical aspects of all dives.
• Must have current knowledge of techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of competitive diving.
• Ability to attend all home and away dive meets.
• Red Cross CPR certification required (can be obtained on site prior to start date).

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, dive coaches assist in the supervision of all aspects of the competitive summer diving program.
• Teaching, administration, and deck coaching as a representative of the Country Club of Birmingham at all team events and functions.
• Assist with all aspects of the Country Club of Birmingham Summer Dive Team, to include but not limited, to planning, preparing, conducting, supervising, and attending daily workouts and meets; developing team motivation; and overseeing divers at team functions, while providing a healthy, safe and nurturing environment.
• Attend pre-season planning sessions and post-season celebrations.
• Responsible for the safety and security of all athletes in the program.
• Prompt and reliable attendance at all practices and competitions including dual meets and Senior County Championships.
• Assist with the development of goals and strategies for providing effective training programs to ensure the progress of divers.
• Assist with the operation of all aspects of the diving software to include inputting data, uploading data files into the diving software.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
