Drafts complaints and indictments; Screens cases submitted by law enforcement, evaluates and reviews evidence, reports, and recordings; determines appropriate criminal charges; advises law enforcement and investigators when further investigation is needed; Represents the State in District Court for hearings and trials; determines appropriate sentence recommendations; Reads and researches case law; Complies with discovery requirements; Handles assigned cases through disposition, with the support of a separate appellate division; Represents the State in probation revocation hearings; Performs related work as required. We are looking for felony prosecutors who want to be in court and in trial. We are a trial office responsible for the prosecution of felonies in Bell County. Our office gives prosecutors the opportunity to litigate the most serious felony offenses, while also allowing you to manage your cases from investigation until disposition.
