About The Position

Provides leadership and direction to Store Sales Representatives in a designated District. Supervises direct reports to ensure the district achieves sales goals, service objectives, budget commitments, account profitability, and administrative commitments. May also supervise Zone Managers attached to the District. Serves as the main point of contact for large accounts by maintaining excellent customer relations at the store level. This role is responsible for ensuring all aspects of training are completed in a timely manner, working with SSRs (and ZM if applicable) on a rotational basis to evaluate performance, and communicating with SSRs (and ZM if applicable) to provide information. The position identifies potential candidates for advancement opportunities, adheres to and follows Human Resource Procedures, and meets call cycle commitments. It also involves planning and implementing new procedures/projects within the District (and Zone if applicable), ensuring that all merchandising strategies are followed, and that Product Knowledge and Safety presentations are conducted as needed. The role ensures that expense controls are followed, continually seeks cost-saving opportunities, and adjusts resources to accomplish objectives in the most efficient manner. Assists the Region/Senior District Manager in developing the operating budget for the District, promptly responds to customer issues, and monitors competitor’s products, customer needs/trends. Requires regular communication with Supervisor and Account Managers. When applicable, oversees third-party labor, including coordinating with external vendors and their management to ensure alignment with business needs and expectations. Owns project scheduling and execution across the market, building and aligning the team to deliver projects on time, within scope, and in accordance with established specifications and performance standards. Employees are expected and encouraged to participate in safety and health program activities including immediately reporting hazards, immediately reporting unsafe work practices and incidents to supervisors, wearing required personal protective equipment, and participating in and supporting safety committee activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in experience.
  • Previous experience managing group of individuals, as a Zone Manager or with other company.
  • Two years related experience working with hardware and home center accounts.
  • Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; evaluates and generates alternative solutions; makes recommendations.

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows.

  • Maintains a valid driver license and vehicle insurance and can operate a motor vehicle safely.
  • Able to travel up to 75% of the time including some overnight stays.
  • Able to lead and motivate a large group of off-site staff by guiding, training, and offering counsel.
