Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the sales function in order to maximize sales volumes and revenue. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive business strategies and marketing plans, and is responsible and accountable for sales and revenue/margin plan attainment. The District Sales Manager directs a staff of sales and administrative personnel, including hiring, training, and performance management, and provides assistance to sales representatives with customer relations strategies and issues. They also review sales activity, performance, and training needs with sales personnel, and provide sales coaching and training on the street and in sales meetings. The position requires proactively contacting assigned accounts to identify customer needs, changing requirements, or potential problems and resolving them accordingly. Additionally, the role involves maintaining Company-owned cold drink and display equipment in the trade, ensuring compliance with exclusivity policies, and developing and maintaining thorough knowledge of the Company’s available services, product line, pricing structure, and promotional activity to sell additional services as appropriate to existing customers. Responding to service change requests or requirements by processing orders promptly, professionally, and courteously, and exercising judgment in resolving service, billing, or pricing problems not resolved by other departments are key functions. The manager must also develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and respond accordingly, complete all required sales reports in a timely fashion, and continue sales and industry training as assigned.
