About The Position

The Engine Division of Kawasaki Motors Corp, headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a District Sales Manager to be based in the greater NorthWest Chicago Suburbs, Rockford, IL, and Eastern Wisconsin. This role is responsible for growing the dealer network, increasing replacement engine and parts sales, and maintaining communication between Kawasaki and its dealers across portions of IL, WI & MI. Relocation assistance may be approved on a case-by-case basis. The position requires daily travel, with 65% overnight travel expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of direct sales experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and organized

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems preferred
  • Prior experience selling consumer products is strongly desired
  • Experience in the lawn & garden industry will receive special consideration

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and secures dealer prospects and coordinates dealer applications, processing new applications promptly.
  • Finds business growth opportunities through analysis of historical data.
  • Plans assigned territory travel in an organized and efficient manner to visit or call on established and prospective engines dealers.
  • Wholesales Kawasaki products to dealers and assists with the implementation and retail sales merchandising efforts.
  • Maintains a high level of effective communication between all departments at Kawasaki.
  • Assures dealership staff understands all Kawasaki programs and maintains all Kawasaki communication materials.
  • Effectively communicates with dealers through email campaigns.
  • Maintains dealer business by soliciting service or product related issues from dealership staff.
  • Attends annual update schools to help lead and present, provide support, and share information.
  • Encourages dealers to attend the annual technical update schools.
  • Researches and maintains information on competitors for current market intelligence.
  • Obtains and distributes regular industry and competitive company/product/program information, providing market data, dealer comments, and feedback for appropriate markets.
  • Prepares various weekly and monthly reports including expense reports and dealer call reports as required and in a timely manner.
  • Assures that dealers operate within the framework of and adhere to the requirements and policies set forth in the sales and service agreement.
  • Assists credit department with delinquent accounts as necessary.
  • Meets sales goals as determined by management.
