About The Position

MiniMed is seeking a District Sales Manager to lead and develop a team of Clinical District Managers and Territory Managers, driving sales performance within budget. The DM recruits, trains, and retains team members, sets territory sales goals, and collaborates with the Regional Sales Director on strategy and planning. This is a field-based position that will support our Great Plains District, covering Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will reside in Omaha, NE; Kansas City, MO; or Oklahoma City, OK. The expectation is to be in the field 3-4 days/week and remote the remaining time. The role involves setting a clear district vision, motivating the team, and fostering collaboration between sales and clinical teams. It also requires maximizing sales coverage and performance, using metrics to track progress and ensure territory strategies are executed. The District Sales Manager will maintain sales data and records to analyze market trends, guide the team, and communicate competitive insights. They will also support strategic account and pre-call planning, interpret business and marketing policies, and build strong relationships with key accounts. The position requires providing input to regional leadership on sales strategies, promotions, staffing, and product acceptance, and collaborating with the Inside District Sales Supervisor for efficient pipeline management. Ensuring field personnel achieve revenue and market development goals, and capturing HCP engagements via Salesforce are key responsibilities. The role also includes managing the district budget, controlling expenses, coaching, providing feedback, evaluating performance, creating development opportunities, assessing skill growth, and overseeing recruitment, onboarding, training, and annual reviews for field employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant sales experience (medical device/pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience) OR Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy.
  • Driving record will be reviewed and considered as part of the application.
  • Must be able to drive approximately 100% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.
  • For sales reps and other patient facing field employees, going into a healthcare setting is considered an essential function of the job and we expect our employees to comply with all credentialing requirements at the hospitals or clinics they support.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years team management experience (with direct reports) or 3+ years successful MiniMed Field Sales experience
  • Proven sales success in the medical device industry, with recognition such as President’s Club or Rookie of the Year
  • Strong business planning, territory financial analysis, and data-driven problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading and coaching high-performance sales teams, providing tailored feedback and motivation
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and consultative sales skills; team-oriented
  • Understanding of the MiniMed business environment and ability to align business and customer objectives
