About The Position

The District Retail Merchandiser coordinates a variety of field projects including new store sets, re-sets, and conversions to ensure that the company provides value added services to customers within the assigned district. This is a weekly travel-based role, including overnight stays usually every week. This role comes with a company car, and company gas card. Pay ranges from $20-22 an hour based on experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years merchandising experience, in retail environment.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows
  • Knowledge of plan-o-grams - able to work off plan-o-grams in an efficient manner.
  • Strong organization, planning skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and deal tactfully with the public.
  • Willing to travel 80 - 90% of the time when needed.
  • Maintains a valid driver license and vehicle insurance.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle safely and lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Works with District Manager to plan, schedule, and implement projects.
  • Addresses and resolves issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates the successful assembly of product displays according to plan-o-gram, new item placement, and merchandising systems at customer retail locations.
  • Leads temporary employees and third-party merchandisers at customer locations.
  • Maintains excellent customer relations at the store level.
  • Serves as a back up to Territory Managers as needed.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with District Manager.
  • Submits required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintains required records and manages expenses within company budgets.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of company products, field operations, and customer account specifications.
  • Travels constantly within district or region.
  • Work involves frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing, and lifting.
  • Work involves exposure to dust and occasional dirty conditions.
  • Employees are expected and encouraged to participate in safety and health program activities including immediately reporting hazards, immediately reporting unsafe work practices and incidents to supervisors, wearing required personal protective equipment, and participating in and supporting safety committee activities.
