About The Position

This is a full-time position responsible for designing, implementing, and managing events and programs within the Innovation Quarter in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves working with tenants, community members, and stakeholders to create a vibrant district experience, curate outdoor activations, and drive community engagement. The manager will lead event planning, budget creation, vendor management, and collaborate with marketing teams to promote events and the district's brand. Key responsibilities include tracking tenant connections, managing tenant surveys, and inputting data into the CRM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years demonstrated experience in a relevant field (e.g., university administration, community development, corporate engagement, communications)
  • Proven experience in events and programming, community engagement, project management, or a related role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative initiatives
  • A self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and balance multiple priorities

  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in community design, experiential marketing, and inclusion
  • Understanding of workforce development, contracting, and procurement practices

Responsibilities

  • Survey and work with tenants, community members, and stakeholders to design an annual calendar of events and programs.
  • Implement and identify resources to support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual events and activities.
  • Curate outdoor activations to enhance community experience and showcase the Innovation Quarter.
  • Develop strategies for strong event participation, community awareness, and engagement.
  • Lead all aspects of event design, promotion, coordination, and implementation, including volunteer and vendor management.
  • Create an annual budget for programming and activation, process invoices, assist with vendor setup, and reconcile expenditures.
  • Prepare budgetary and attendance reports.
  • Identify and source funding sponsors to offset event costs.
  • Oversee the ideation and implementation of tenant events and amenity-related activities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to promote events and the Innovation Quarter's brand.
  • Drive and track district connections and engagement among tenants and community members.
  • Lead the implementation of the annual tenant survey census and input district data into CRM.
