About The Position

The District Solvent Product Manager plays a critical role in evolving the district from tactical execution to strategic commercial leadership, driving sustainable growth, margin expansion, and operational efficiency. This role integrates commercial insight with supply chain and operational execution to maximize district performance. This role includes direct responsibility for two Solvent Specialists being accountable for ensuring effective tactical execution in support of the district solvent strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Chemistry or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in the Solvents Industry (sales, marketing, product management) is highly appreciated.
  • Experience managing a team, coaching, and guiding direct reports towards consistent results.
  • Experience in supplier agreements, sales contracts, product allocation and pricing
  • Solid understanding of the chemical distribution business model
  • Solid relationship builder both externally and internally
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic commercial leader for the district, driving profitable growth and margin improvement.
  • Translate national and regional strategies into actionable local plans aligned with district priorities.
  • Own and advance the district opportunity pipeline in partnership with Sales leadership, ensuring focus on high-impact strategic opportunities.
  • Set clear seller expectations and align account focus with broader strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong local supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply, competitive cost structures, and service excellence.
  • Proactively engage suppliers to develop volume incentives, tailored service programs, and growth initiatives.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews to address challenges, assess results, and align on mutual growth goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Purchasing, and Operations to drive strategic prioritization and execution.
  • Act as the commercial liaison for the district, aligning stakeholders around shared growth objectives.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop business cases for capital investments to support growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Purchasing to ensure product flows efficiently and accurately across the district.
  • Evaluate sourcing strategies, hub-and-spoke models, and inventory optimization to reduce freight costs and improve margins.
  • Analyze plant capabilities, storage assets, and tank configurations to identify opportunities for improved asset utilization and efficiency.
  • Analyze market trends, customer demand patterns, order history, and margin data to identify growth and optimization opportunities.
  • Guide Sales, Purchasing, and Product Management toward opportunities with the greatest commercial and margin impact.
  • Integrate commercial insights with pricing and operational data to improve margin spread and profitability.
