We are looking for a supportive mentor who can support our sales teams to grow and thrive while nurturing a community of safety and reliability. Your role is to strengthen our market presence by cultivating alignment across branches, optimizing resources , and facilitating a seamless experience for both our associates and our customers .

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience (ideally 7+ years in a relevant field).
  • A proven record of contributing to sustainable sales success and profitable growth .
  • Experience of increasing responsibility in a business-to-business sales-related or sales operations position.
  • Prior experience mentoring a team and stewardship of a P&L (or comparable experience within the distribution industry involving gases and welding supplies).
  • A supportive and collaborative leadership approach , with a history of supporting and mentoring teams for at least 3 years.
  • Strong communication skills , both verbal and written, with a focus on building alignment and staying organized.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft solutions , particularly Excel and Word, and experienced in data entry and order extraction .
  • Numerical proficiency for practical business applications and analytical reporting .
  • Adaptability to work both self-directed and collaboratively , maintaining focus in a dynamic environment .
  • The ability to foster understanding while interacting with diverse teams and personalities .
  • Solid understanding of business and accounting concepts including, but not limited to, Return on Investment (ROI) , Profit & Loss (P&L) statements , balance sheets , interest and leasing calculations , and margin responsibilities .
  • Physical capability to lift 25-75 lbs. as needed to support operations .
  • A valid driver’s license and an insured personal vehicle .
  • Comfortable working in a drug-free environment .
  • Flexibility to adjust your schedule to meet the needs of our customers and the management team .

Nice To Haves

  • A history of advancing sales growth and achieving consistent year-over-year progress .
  • Experience in the Industrial Gas industry and/or welding is a valuable contribution .
  • Experience in sales team management with a focus on sustainable growth .
  • Public speaking capabilities to represent the brand with confidence .
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support , mentor , and encourage the sales team to advance toward excellent safety standards and performance milestones.
  • Provide thoughtful P&L care for the assigned branches and territory, ensuring long-term fiscal health.
  • Cultivate exceptional customer service and product knowledge, ensuring a collaborative approach to problem resolution.
  • Advocate for safety measures through interactive meetings and by ensuring alignment with all safety protocols.
  • Optimize profit margins by implementing strategic plans from the Region and Area, ensuring operating expenses align with collective growth milestones and exceptional customer service.
  • Enhance and sustain the selling skills and product expertise of the staff through continuous learning .
  • Foster professional growth and provide open, ongoing support on company policies and customer service excellence.
  • Partner with the Branch Manager in the hiring, training, and collaborative development of employees.
  • Support outside sales representatives by preparing insightful sales data and providing thoughtful forecasts for leadership.
  • Coordinate paperwork, inventory, pricing, and profitability to ensure operational health.
  • Facilitate personnel matters and ensure facility upkeep to provide a welcoming and safe environment.
