The District Manager is responsible for achieving financial objectives by preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. They also determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing financial statements and sales activity, and maintain store standards through inspections of cleanliness, inventory levels, merchandising, and audits. This position contributes to team efforts by achieving financial and Key Result Area targets and actively participates in the recruitment of store operators. The District Manager oversees Market Managers, confirming banking and financial information, and minimizing loss prevention through enforcement and training. They manage costs and direct performance at Subway locations, ensuring operational compliance with Subway guidelines, store operations, housekeeping, stock levels, and corporate policies. The role involves monitoring sales, pricing, and promotional programs, as well as executing security, mystery shop, health, and safety programs. They ensure company standards and government legislation (Health and Safety, WSIB) are maintained and followed. Responsibilities include P&L and CTO management, top-line sales achievement, communicating required information, inventory control and theft investigation, overseeing outside services, following merchandising programs, and conducting regional meetings to enhance training and share information. The District Manager prepares business plans for the region, collaborates with suppliers, analyzes P&L statements, and prepares action plans for Market Managers. They also maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, increasing effectiveness through communication, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisal, and fostering a climate for information sharing and personal growth. Regular store visits are conducted to ensure Market Managers enforce company guidelines, and yearly performance reviews are prepared and executed. The role involves monitoring store-level reports for asset protection and participating in store design or re-design projects. Other program projects and tasks as assigned are also part of the role.
