The District Manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding service goals in the management of a district of routes. This role may also involve managing a service center. The District Manager is expected to develop and motivate their team through continuous training, regular meetings, daily check-ins, fostering a positive work environment, route rides, and building strong relationships with each Route Sales Representative (RSR). Key responsibilities include ensuring customer loyalty and outstanding service through customer visits, audits, new installs, problem-solving, open communication, and negotiation. The District Manager must ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures, including safety and Service SOP. They will manage retention and growth by motivating their district to solicit new customers, up-sell/cross-sell/sample all lines of service or product, and ensure a profitable product mix, while also monitoring and reporting competitive activity. Additionally, they will oversee promotions, contests, and maintain excellent customer relationships. The role involves leading their district to success, communicating changes and policies, overseeing route organization, projecting a professional image, and cooperating with other departments. The District Manager may also complete general route responsibilities when necessary, including safely operating a delivery vehicle. A Senior District Manager performs all these functions and additionally oversees a service center, which includes securing the facility, managing inventory, overseeing deposits and paperwork, and communicating effectively with the processing plant.
