About The Position

Brodie Sports Group is a rapidly expanding sports brand focused on redefining adult recreational basketball. They aim to provide an exceptional, professional-quality experience emphasizing culture, competition, and community, ensuring league nights are the highlight of their athletes' weeks. The company is seeking District Managers for its league operations team in Toronto. This role is suited for individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, a knack for taking ownership, building strong teams, and driving operational excellence. The District Manager will be responsible for the performance, consistency, and overall health of a designated group of Brodie League locations, playing a crucial role in expanding Brodie's presence across Ontario by developing leaders, ensuring consistency, and delivering high-quality league experiences.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing managers who can operate independently.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption of standardized systems and processes.
  • Experience overseeing consistent execution across multiple locations or teams.
  • Effective problem-solver capable of triaging escalations and resolving issues quickly.
  • Operationally minded with an interest in improving efficiency through better workflows or automation.
  • Highly organized, accountable, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to travel between locations.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends during key periods.
  • Ability to work 5 days in-office at the Toronto HQ in Liberty Village.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent adherence to the Brodie Standard across all locations regarding game flow, staffing, stats, content, and player experience.
  • Monitor weekly execution, identify potential issues early, and intervene before they escalate.
  • Develop and coach General Managers and League Managers to operate independently and confidently.
  • Serve as the primary point of support for General and League Managers, guiding them through challenges and reinforcing expectations.
  • Ensure consistent adoption of Brodie systems, playbooks, and workflows.
  • Hold leaders accountable for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, and operating standards.
  • Identify process breakdowns and provide field feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Support new market launches from the planning phase through execution.
  • Conduct market research, including facilities, demographics, and competitive analysis.
  • Hire, onboard, and train initial on-site leadership and game-day staff for new markets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure new markets are fully prepared for launch.
  • Identify and improve high-friction workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Partner with teams and the Tech department to implement automation that reduces errors and administrative tasks.
  • Drive the adoption of new tools and systems across the district.
