About The Position

The District Manager is responsible for directing the operational efficiency and strategic growth of branch locations within their division, ensuring alignment with corporate missions and financial objectives. This role requires the oversight of staff development, inventory management, vendor relationships, and compliance with industry regulations to maximize profitability and ensure exceptional customer service. The District Manager will leverage strong leadership and analytical skills to drive financial performance, integrate new acquisitions, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all branches.

  • General computer proficiency with foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of inventory management, fleet maintenance, and regulatory requirements (DOT, OSHA, Hazmat).
  • Experience in budgeting, P&L responsibility, and financial acumen that guides business decisions and maximizes revenue.
  • Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in Landscape/Irrigation/Pool is required.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Distribution, or related business degrees advantageous to enhance leadership effectiveness and alignment with industry-specific growth strategies.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead district operations to achieve and surpass key business objectives, including profitability, asset management, and return on investment, by implementing effective strategies for branch growth and operational efficiency.
  • Drive a robust safety culture by conducting thorough location visits, actively participating in training, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations, thereby promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Develop and mentor team members by providing continuous training, identifying talent, and creating clear paths for growth, which enhances overall team performance and addresses skill deficiencies.
  • Maximize district profitability by ensuring each branch operates efficiently, with a focus on maintaining optimal sales margins, providing exceptional customer service, and managing effective inventory control practices.
  • Provide strategic leadership for turnaround, greenfield, and newly acquired branches by implementing effective policies, procedures, and processes, while making decisive actions on operational inefficiencies.
  • Monitor market dynamics and sales performance across the district, taking ownership of achieving budget goals, and holding teams accountable for meeting sales objectives while enhancing customer growth and margins.
  • Oversee financial operations with P&L responsibility, leveraging keen financial acumen to guide business decisions, maximize revenue opportunities, and drive improvements in key performance indicators to enhance overall district profitability.
