About The Position

G3 Boats/Yamaha is seeking a passionate outdoor and/or boating enthusiast with a drive for sales through a dealer network to join their team as a District Manager. This role will support the northeastern sales territory, which includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. The District Manager will be accountable for the overall business direction and development of the assigned territory, focusing on developing the dealer network and supporting retailers with top-level service. This position acts as a channel for communication between dealerships and G3 Boats leadership, supports local retail activities, and serves as the face of Yamaha/G3 Boats.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Job requires extensive travel within a compact geographic territory
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license
  • Must have good communication and presentation skills
  • Must be an energetic self-starter

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in the powersports industry preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a sales professional preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assure current Dealers are representing Yamaha product (Units, Parts & Accessories) based on market size and conditions.
  • Assist current Dealer network in retailing product (Units, Parts, & Accessories) through National TAP programs, setting up TAP programs, and moving product between Dealers to control retail and inventory.
  • Prospect for new Dealers and make recommendations to management regarding changes, additions, or deletions of Dealers.
  • Provide business planning input to new prospects, ensuring quality watercraft retail performance upon startup.
  • Conduct on the water demonstrations to new dealer prospects.
  • Conduct classroom and On the Water sales training classes for dealership sales staff on all product lines.
  • Submit 30 call/prospect reports per month.
  • Travel within the district each week to ensure the highest level of dealer satisfaction.
  • Analyze data and perform SWOT evaluations bi-annually to identify strengths and weaknesses in wholesale, retail, and dealer network effectiveness.
  • Recommend action plans to management for problem resolution.
  • Gather information from the marketplace regarding Yamaha Dealers and competitive information on new products, programs, prices, finance promotions, advertising, and Dealer changes.
  • Gather and submit monthly information on Yamaha retail, competitive retail, Yamaha wholesale, competitive wholesale, Yamaha inventory, and marketplace.
  • Analyze gathered information and explain its relation to the assigned marketplace concerning wholesale and retail activity.
  • Complete Dealer Call Reports weekly/monthly, stating expectations, setting sales goals, and noting important discussions.
  • Fill out prospect reports to inform management of other dealers in the market area and build relationships with competitive dealers.
  • Complete and submit monthly reports in a timely fashion, focusing on retail numbers to determine market activity.
  • Accurately complete and submit expense reports weekly, adhering to established policies/standards.
  • Submit monthly and weekly itineraries documenting dealer visits and travel plans.
  • Conduct annual market surveys to determine target dealers, markets, and overall direction for DMs, RMs, and management.
  • Work on special projects regarding retail on specific models, availability, and market conditions.
  • Present best practices, trade area overviews, sales training, and action items at sales meetings.
  • Develop creative and innovative solutions to issues facing the Watercraft group to improve overall productivity, efficiency, and performance.
