About The Position

Environmentally motivated Eco-conscious, customer service driven individual to perform Green Squads environmental assessments. These assessments consist of sustainability evaluation of green building and deconstruction practices, carbon impact analysis, supply chain procurement, waste, electricity and water efficient resource utilization at customer locations. Upon performing assessments, generates reports indicating overall sustainability baseline, along with a plan and a group of solutions for potential improvements. Has the ability to formulate and implement best practices. Maintains pre-established standards for safety and environmental issues. Location: This role will support both Ft. Wayne and Warsaw and travel between the two locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Architectural Design, Community Planning or Business, or in lieu of degree
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • four years of relevant work experience.
  • 8 years of relevant work experience in project/business management and
  • No experience Environmental or services industry experience is required (in addition to education requirement).
  • Green Advantage certification and
  • Professional Engineer and
  • Direct Carbon Management Experience – accounting, boundaries or verification

Responsibilities

  • Consult with existing, new, and potential customers to develop assessment plans and appropriate potential goals and solutions. These may include waste diversion, energy saving and/or other sustainable initiatives, as well as cost saving opportunities.
  • Perform full sustainability assessments primarily focused on green building practices, supply chain procurement, waste, energy, water, and carbon impacts. Prepare final report, including environmental, social and economic analysis, and present conclusions to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Review final reports from sustainability consultants prior to audit reports being sent to customers as part of QA/QC process.
  • Operate and responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of Green Squads vehicle (e.g., Striker van, hybrid car) for use in transporting personnel and equipment utilized for assessments, client community education, along with some exhibiting the vehicle in select Market Area Public Relations activities.
  • Maintain assessment specific equipment and ensure that equipment is ready for scheduled assessments.
  • Analyze assessment results and consult with client to identify, design and implement environmental sustainability initiatives and cost saving opportunities and proposals.
  • Sales responsibilities for the solutions, services and products derived from initial assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with client and government regulations when performing assessments and other onsite functions.
  • Promote culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with safety, environmental, federal, state & local regulations.
  • Review and update Safety checklists, procedures and JHAs for consulting team.
  • On-board and provide training to new Sustainability Consultants as required.
  • Propose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains communications and a close working relationship with key WM Market Area personnel to include, but not limited to, MAGM, MASM, and sales personnel.
  • Responsibility of P&L for consulting Team – EST revenue of 500K
  • Self-educate on current sustainability topics, issues, and trends.
  • May manage 2-4 sustainability consultants as direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
