About The Position

The District HRPD Advisor for PCL Constructors Inc. within Edmonton NAHQ leads and advises on HR programs, policies, practices, and compliance for assigned client groups. This role builds strong partnerships with leaders, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and team effectiveness. The advisor participates in district HR planning and leads district-level projects and initiatives from development through execution and evaluation. They also lead district Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) committee initiatives, supporting inclusive practices and employee engagement. Additionally, the role coaches leaders and employees on career management, including goal setting, development planning, and employee growth. The advisor supports employee relations and performance management matters, applying sound judgment to resolve complex people issues and recommend practical solutions. They also support the execution of annual HR cycles (performance, talent review, succession, and compensation programs) to ensure consistency and alignment across client groups and develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with stakeholders across the district.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in HR or related field preferred; HR designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, policies, and employment legislation.
  • Contributes to team effectiveness by supporting shared priorities and taking on new challenges and development opportunities.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and resilience while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Business acumen with understanding of industry trends.
  • Ability to work independently and in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organization, project management, and Microsoft Office skills.
