Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of HRPD-related principles, practices, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Able to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Able to interpret and analyze information and data and make recommendations.
  • Strong business acumen, with an understanding of industry practices and new developments.
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Able to effectively manage a team comprising of entry-level human resources professionals.
  • Seen as a trusted advisor with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred.
  • Completion of HR designation preferred.
  • 7 years of progressive human resources experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the recruitment and onboarding programs needed.
  • Leads recruitment process for senior-level positions.
  • Utilizes appropriate recruitment sourcing strategies and builds strategic industry contacts to build a candidate pipeline.
  • Leads local market research and analysis for salary/bonus review cycle.
  • Provides guidance, coaching, and training on all aspects of career management.
  • Guides and coaches supervisors through progressive discipline process for entry to mid-level positions, including the development and delivery of performance improvement plans and/or progressive disciplinary strategies on employee relations issues up to and including termination.
  • Leads investigations, including communication/implementation of outcomes/decisions.
  • Assists manager on complex investigations.
  • Has demonstrated experience in executing employment investigations.
  • Oversees student program strategy, enhances, and influences the program to align with district strategies.
  • Maintains strategic relationships with academic institutions.
