About The Position

The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is seeking a District Grant Manager to join the Office of Education Innovation and Improvement. This is a permanent, full-time, non-exempt position represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence for business needs such as collaboration, training, or accessing onsite resources, while also allowing for remote work with the expectation of maintaining performance, responsiveness, communication, and availability. The primary aim of this role is to support grant making, reporting, and monitoring processes for various programs, including the Student Investment Account (HB 3427), High School Success, Federal School Improvement (ESEA/ESSA), and Early Literacy Success (HB 3198).

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years experience coordinating or administering a program
  • Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor grantee reporting, budget expenditures, and program data to assess progress towards outcomes and adherence to requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to grantees and district personnel on reporting systems (e.g., grant management system, Smartsheet, dashboards) and grant requirements.
  • Develop and refine operational guidelines, procedures, and internal monitoring systems to ensure consistency across programs.
  • Review and approve grantee plans, budgets, and plan changes to ensure allowable use of funds and alignment with program requirements.
