About The Position

This is an Experience, Certification/Training & Education (ECT&E) claim for the District Fire Chief departmental promotional examination scheduled for November 21, 2026. Eligible candidates must already have applied and paid to participate in the written examination, and must submit this separate online claim to receive ECT&E credit. There is no separate fee for filing the claim.

The ECT&E examination component assesses employment and supervisory experience, training and certifications, and education. It is weighted as follows: Experience 52%, Certification/Training 28%, and Education 20%. Candidates should consult the 2026 District and Deputy Fire Promotional ECT&E Guide for instructions and examples.

Candidates may complete and submit the online claim through November 28, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Once submitted, a claim cannot be altered through the online account. Written modification requests must be emailed to [email protected] by the deadline. Supporting documentation is required for all claims and must be attached to the online claim or emailed by the same deadline. HRD may audit claims after submission and during the resulting eligible list’s life. After examination scores are emailed, candidates have 17 calendar days to appeal the scoring of their claim; no new type of credit may be claimed after submission.
