About The Position

Join UCC Environmental, a leader in sustainable technology solutions. This role focuses on leveraging water management and wastewater treatment (WWT) operational experience and environmental compliance experience to develop and implement short-to-mid-range business objectives and strategic sales plans in coordination with the UCC Environmental Sales and Marketing Management Teams. The primary responsibilities include technically and strategically directing the territory for all water sales initiatives associated with local governing authority discharge limits, US EPA requirements, and other end-user needs for new water systems. The role also involves training and development, customer relationship development/management, opportunity identification, proposal development, technical sales presentations, and post-bid negotiations for systems sales. Additionally, the position functions as a technical collaboration role with internal resources focused on water initiatives at customer sites within the territory. It will also work with UCC R&D personnel and contract systems engineering for input on system sizing, component technology, vendor selection, materials of construction, and industry best practices. The District Engineer must combine strong technical knowledge with capabilities in Customer Relationship Management and demonstrate capabilities in collaborating within a team environment. Experience with a privately held company is beneficial.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, civil or environmental) is required
  • At least 10-15 years of water management and/or wastewater treatment experience in engineering/technology based in Power, Mining, and/or Heavy industrial environments
  • At least 10 years of sales/procurement/contracting experience in engineering and/or technology-based Power, Mining, and/or Heavy industrial environments
  • Technical leadership for complex water treatment systems
  • Business development experience with success breaking into new markets
  • A proven track record of growing sales channels and sales revenue
  • Track record of successfully promoting newly developed technical strategies
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinker, proven leader, motivated with a focus on results
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deal with ambiguity and competing priorities
  • Leadership skills with technical knowledge mentoring emphasis

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate UCC Environmental core values
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual sales strategy and tactical plans for Water Management and WWT sales for the domestic Utility coal-fired power plant market, with particular emphasis on CCR/ELG compliance initiatives, as well as other heavy industrial markets (Mining, Cement, Pulp & Paper, Chemical, etc.)
  • Achieve annual sales volume targets
  • Develop the Annual and a 5-Year Business Plan for the district that includes all water management, material handling, dry sorbent injection as well as aftermarket parts sales opportunities, including anticipated sales outlook
  • Build and maintain market expertise through market research and competitive analysis, networking with key customers, suppliers and partners
  • Drive sales strategies and programs to strengthen current and potential market penetration and customer satisfaction
  • Develop business plans and collaborate with UCC Environmental personnel to define and drive action that maximizes Customer satisfaction
  • Proactively work cross functionally with other UCC Environmental support functions to effectively meet sales goals
  • Gain knowledge of EPA rules that are market drivers for water and wastewater treatment opportunities, including Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR), Effluent Limitation Guidelines (ELG), Mine Tailings and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations
  • Conduct 100 to 140 customer calls per year, including visits to Plant sites, Corporate Offices, Engineering Firms, and other Strategic Partners within the Territory
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
