About The Position

Lone Star Paving is a paving contractor operating in the Central Texas region with paving crews, HMA, aggregate, trucking, milling, and quality control. Our operations complete heavy highway and civil projects throughout Texas. We pride ourselves in being a family-oriented organization with a goal of upholding the safety and health of our number one asset, our employees. The Distributor Driver will work hand in hand with the paving crew superintendent to determine the prime schedule. The ideal candidate is familiar with paving operations in heavy hwy.

Requirements

  • CDL required
  • Must meet DOT employment requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience
  • Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Must be positive, friendly, and professional.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
  • Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
  • Knowledge of how the distributor unit operates
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Proper PPE is required at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with paving operations in heavy hwy.
  • Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the application of prime/oil on the road surface.
  • Must have experience operating a distributor truck, must know the proper heating levels, and how to regulate the spray bar.
  • Must know how to monitor gauges to ensure even distribution
  • Responsible for connecting hoses and regulating pumps
  • Keeping the distributor truck clean, performs daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed, Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
