About The Position

Distribution Team members are cross-trained in a variety of roles, including Order Picker, Truck Loader, Slot Punch Operator, and Material Handler. The team works together to pile down, pick, punch, pack, and ship materials to clients and finishers. Team members are responsible for working safely, using required personal protective equipment, caring for tools and equipment, keeping the work area clean, and following documented procedures. They handle and inspect products to ensure they are undamaged and meet or exceed established specifications. All team members are cross-trained to perform all job functions within six months and must obtain a valid PIV license.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
Ability to frequently bend, lift, push, pull, and twist while carrying product.
Ability to repetitively lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure, work instructions, micrometers, and calipers.
Basic math and computer skills.
Ability to use small hand tools.
Demonstrated excellent attendance.
Reliable transportation.
Must obtain a valid PIV license and cross-train to perform all job functions within six months.

Responsibilities

Sort pick orders by priority, type, and schedule to ensure timely completion.
Work with a teammate to locate and pick accurate orders according to schedule.
Document completed orders with sales number, cradle, and quantity; audit cradles for accuracy; and band completed orders for shipment.
Scrap product according to procedure when necessary.
Use reports to locate missing or late material and take steps to ensure shipment according to schedule.
Unload ovens and pile down material when available.
Verify work orders and identify the correct materials for each truck.
Load cradles into trucks using a Hilo and document cradle number, weight, and other details on shipping documents.
Verify the correct punch dies for sales orders and notify Maintenance when dies or equipment need repair.
Select and punch extrusions on the slot punch machine according to schedule, stage punched extrusions in the identified area, and return completed work orders to Scheduling.
Unload age ovens and use cradle documentation to pile down extruded material in the correct locations.
Measure material hardness and document it according to procedure.
Follow safety requirements and use required PPE; handle and inspect product according to documented procedures.
Keep the work area clean and prevent damage to tools, equipment, and property.
