About The Position

GEMCO Medical is hiring Warehouse Associates for its newly opening distribution center in West Jordan, Utah. The company ships more than 15,000 packages a day and is seeking associates to support shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and facility maintenance. This is a non-customer-facing, task-oriented position in a clean, climate-controlled warehouse. The facility is air conditioned in summer and heated in winter; protective clothing is not required, and comfortable clothing is acceptable.

Full-time schedules are available Monday through Friday: 9:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 12:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a shift differential for the latter schedule. The role offers ongoing training and development and advancement opportunities. Qualified candidates are eligible for a $500 signing bonus. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to full-time employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• General math, computer, and reading comprehension skills.
• Ability to recognize products by code, packaging, and description.
• Attention to detail.
• Willingness to accept responsibility and work as part of a team in a multi-task environment.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare orders for shipment according to pick tickets and customer requirements.
• Package and ship orders according to packaging guidelines and accepted methods and practices.
• Unload, sort, count, package, and label received inventory.
• Safely and efficiently operate applicable distribution center equipment, including forklifts.
• Use a WMS RF scanner and computer system for distribution center activities.
• Perform shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and facility maintenance services.
