About The Position

The Distribution Warehouse Associate is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for meeting and exceeding production standards in the warehouse. This role involves unloading shipments, separating and palletizing items, and moving materials using equipment or by hand. The associate must adhere to safety policies, quality guidelines, and company systems, while also communicating effectively and setting a good example for colleagues. Cross-training and job rotation are expected to maintain productivity and reduce fatigue. The position requires regular attendance and the willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when needed.

Requirements

• Requires overall knowledge of equipment, systems, procedures and processes involved in the area of job responsibility to maintain maximum efficiency.
• Must have knowledge of Tow Motor operation and using technology for pick and put-away.
• Ability to read and interpret all necessary paperwork to accomplish maximum efficiencies.
• Basic math skills.
• Good verbal skills, able to interact well with subordinates, peers, and superiors.
• Must be able to walk and/or stand up to ten (10) hours a day.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds regularly during a shift while unloading containers and moving case packs, skids, and oversized boxes.
• Regular attendance.
• Willingness and ability to work more than the regularly scheduled 40 hour work week when requested by management.
• Knowledge of RF unit.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Report any safety hazards or violations.
• Operate warehouse equipment in a safe, controlled manner.
• Operate within Coastal’s quality guidelines and check all work.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship.
• Follow all systems consistently and correctly.
• Properly operate assigned machines.
• Maintain workflow.
• Communicate all necessary information to Line Leader or Supervisor.
• Set a good example for coworkers.
• Accept cross-training and be willing to rotate jobs as needed.
• Strive to meet or exceed minimum productivity standards.
• Unload shipments either with equipment or by hand.
• Separate and palletize items.
• Move needed items to manufacturing and distribution by hand or with equipment.
