About The Position

Wilson Construction Company has an immediate opening in our El Dorado Hills office for an experienced, mid to upper level, Distribution/Transmission Estimator / Project Manager with a positive, results-oriented attitude and the experience to lead and provide valuable input to project teams. Estimator / Project Manager Responsibilities include working with project teams to provide technical and project management leadership on large, fast-paced utility construction projects. Duties will include the estimating, developing, planning, coordinating and the fulfillment of all technical requirements related to assigned proposals and projects. The candidate must possess the ability to coordinate all proposal and project communication interdepartmentally, with the project owner when appropriate, while representing the company in day-to-day project tasks and activities. Successful candidates should have relevant experience in electrical estimating and construction for large-scale construction projects. Our ideal candidate will be an organized, motivated self-starter with the specified experience within the utility construction industry.

Requirements

  • Five years of office and field management or technical services experience related to distribution/transmission utility electrical construction, including experience in mid-level management.
  • Two years of experience as a lead estimator and project manager on distribution/transmission utility projects.
  • Background in transmission, distribution and substation estimating and construction is also beneficial for this position.
  • Expertise in project management, including scheduling, cost estimating, coordination, and quality control.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Microsoft Project and Primavera skills are beneficial.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work outside and travel as required.
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance from the office or be willing to relocate.
