About The Position

This position requires the qualifications of a Distribution Technician II, plus additional specialized experience and knowledge. The role involves working as a Distribution Technician II for at least thirty-six (36) months or equivalent experience. It also requires successful completion of a Corrosion control course, proficiency in making plastic fused and mechanical joints, and the ability to operate and perform minor maintenance on trenchers, backhoes, and boring equipment. Familiarity with relevant Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations, as well as specific NFPA codes and the Florida Building Fuel Gas Code, is essential. The technician must understand the operation and maintenance requirements of the gas distribution system and be able to pass the requirements outlined in the Training Grid for this position. Additionally, the role includes being part of an On-Call Duty rotation.

Requirements

  • All qualifications of Distribution Technician II
  • Thirty-six (36) months of experience as a Distribution Technician II or equivalent experience
  • Successfully completed the applicable course on Corrosion control
  • Qualified to make plastic fused and mechanical joints
  • Able to operate and perform minor maintenance on trenchers, backhoes, and boring equipment
  • Familiar with Federal, State and Local rules and regulations applicable to their job
  • Familiar with provisions in and applications of NFPA 54, NFPA 58, Florida Building Fuel Gas Code and any state required gas code
