About The Position

The Distribution System Operator is responsible for receiving outage calls and coordinating the restoration of electric service to members. This role also involves receiving calls from members during and after hours to assist with electric service-related issues and monitoring cooperative systems for the stability of the electric distribution system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of metering, SCADA and distribution systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with other employees and members.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Maintain valid NC Driver License.
• Must live within 30 miles of the Cooperative's headquarters (376 Grindstone Rd., Waynesville, NC).

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree from vocational and/or technical school.
• Prior electric utility experience.
• Ability to read, speak and understand Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Receive outage calls and coordinate restoration of service to members.
• Receive calls during and/or after hours from members to help them with problems or requests related to their electric service.
• Monitor various cooperative systems on stability of electric distribution system.
