About The Position

This role is for a Distribution Supervisor in the Supply Chain department, working a 1st shift on-site in Northlake, Texas. The company is a global leader in tools and outdoor equipment, with well-known brands like DEWALT®, CRAFTSMAN®, CUB CADET®, STANLEY® and BLACK+DECKER®. The role involves ensuring employee safety through active safety culture management, policy enforcement, and developing improvements. It also includes developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, maintaining an effective and efficient personnel structure, and planning/coordinating work through various analytical methods. The supervisor will ensure associates meet company and departmental standards for quality, productivity, housekeeping, and safety, and can safely operate material handling equipment. Performance monitoring for cost, labor, and productivity is key, as is cross-training associates and enforcing company policies. Collaboration with Human Resources for interviewing, policy administration, performance monitoring, and resolving associate relations issues is also a significant part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing setting
  • Minimum 1-2 years' leadership experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
  • High degree of credibility and integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inventory or warehouse software, databases, and other systems including SAP and WMS, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of employees via active safety culture management, policy enforcement, and assisting in developing improvements to our business.
  • Develops and maintains standard operation procedures for all areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the department’s mission in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Plans and coordinates work by performing time studies, cost analysis, prototype builds or other means as necessary.
  • Ensures associates meet company and departmental standards for quality, productivity, housekeeping & safety.
  • Ensures associate’s ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations
  • Monitors, measures, and documents department performance for cost, labor, and productivity requirements.
  • Cross-trains all associates in the department and enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Human Resources with interviewing prospective candidates, administer policies and procedures as applicable, monitor employee performance/attendance/time, resolve associate relation issues, coach and counsel for improvement.
