About The Position

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Distribution Supervisor for an existing opportunity within our organization. The Distribution Supervisor will be based out of our Port Coquitlam, BC, a fluid dairy processing facility and report to the Distribution Manager. The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for analyzing and improving Distribution and Logistics operations to ensure efficiency and continuous improvement within the department. The role involves monitoring systems and procedures related to Transport, DSD, LHO, and RDO operations to maintain operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in General Business/Logistics/Transportation is an asset
  • Previous experience in food product distribution or logistics.
  • Strong leadership skills and previous supervisory experience
  • Broad understanding of company operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High self-motivation and initiative.
  • Ability to travel within British Columbia.
  • Proven professionalism, integrity, leadership, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional operational systems.
  • Assist in creating annual operating plans and budgets focused on equipment, procedures, and efficiencies.
  • Conduct regular cost reviews (weekly, monthly, quarterly) against budgets and develop action plans as needed.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and proper maintenance of all equipment.
  • Maintain cost-effective inventory levels following company policies.
  • Evaluate and improve route productivity to enhance efficiency.
  • Facilitate proactive communication across departments and employees.
  • Lead personnel through engagement, feedback, and appraisals.
  • Apply company policies consistently and fairly.
  • Foster positive relationships with all distribution employees.
  • Review critical business areas daily affecting all networks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations including OH&S, WCB, and Food Safety standards.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Perform other duties as required.
