This role involves supervising union staff in the cooler department, managing daily shipping tasks, maintaining schedules, verifying shipments, and ensuring efficient operations. The position also requires managing manpower, preparing schedules, organizing and maintaining equipment, assisting with inventory, and coordinating with various plant departments. A key aspect of the role is to ensure the organization and utilization of materials, machinery, and personnel for maximum efficiency while developing staff and maintaining morale. The Distribution Supervisor must also uphold corporate G.M.P.’s, personnel and safety policies, and ensure equipment is maintained in safe and proper condition.

Requirements

  • 5 years logistics experience.
  • A high school diploma with two years of higher education.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have prior Supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for results.
  • Are able to manage competing priorities and multiple initiatives effectively.
  • Influence and collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently across all levels of the organization.
  • Take a structured and disciplined approach to execution and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises union staff working within the cooler department.
  • Manage and direct lead specialist in daily shipping tasks.
  • Maintain daily shipping schedule.
  • Verify proper items and lot codes shipped.
  • Ensure an efficient shipping schedule.
  • Verify and audit daily time schedules and clock punches using Kronos.
  • Schedule man power as needed for daily shipping on all shifts.
  • Prepare a weekly schedule.
  • Organize and maintain all equipment associated with shipping and receiving.
  • Assign tasks as needed for basic maintenance of equipment.
  • Prepare and follow up on work orders as needed.
  • Assist in inventory procedures.
  • Count and recount product as needed.
  • Communicates and coordinates within the plant including Maintenance, Quality Control and R&D, Parts, Shipping, Warehousing, Condensing/Drying, Clean up and Office.
  • Organization and utilization of materials, machinery and personnel for greatest efficiency while developing personnel to the maximum extent of their ability, while maintaining morale.
  • Carry out corporate G.M.P.’s, personnel and safety policies while maintaining correct discipline with in the plant.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained in safe and proper condition by the maintenance department by notifying them of problems.
  • Make management aware of changes to procedures that would result in better quality and performance of the entire operation.
