About The Position

The Distribution Superintendent oversees regional distribution operations to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. The role manages a fleet of 30 tractors and 30 trailers, leads 50 drivers and four mechanics, and monitors approximately 5,420 deliveries and more than 519,000 miles driven annually. The superintendent develops operational improvement strategies, including route optimization and process enhancements, and works across departments to align distribution with business and customer needs while coordinating maintenance activities to minimize downtime. The position ensures compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and safety and environmental standards. It requires transportation or distribution leadership experience, strong strategic and organizational skills, proficiency with logistics management software and data analysis tools, and effective communication and customer relationship skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
At least five years of experience in transportation or distribution management, with demonstrated success supervising drivers and mechanics.
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
Leadership abilities to motivate a diverse team and achieve high performance.
Strategic planning skills to optimize distribution efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining operational excellence.
Proficiency in logistics management software and data analysis tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to build strong customer relationships.
